Although Amelia knew at the young age of 13 that she wanted to be an acupuncturist, inspired by her early experiences with holistic medicine, she didn’t realize she would find a passion for esthetics, which led her to also become an esthetician and to study facial acupuncture with Virginia Doran and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield (where she first met Diana Horowitz). In 2015, she discovered microneedling and, along with Diana, developed a holistic integrative protocol they now teach to others. Diana began her facial rejuvenation acupuncture journey in 2004 under “Doc” Ron Rosen and continued her studies with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield, eventually teaching Wakefield’s methods. Introduced to Procell microchanneling in 2015, she saw its potential when combined with Chinese medicine and partnered with Amelia to create an enhanced, holistic microneedling approach. Amelia and Diana spent over a year researching and refining their holistic Integrative Microneedling protocol. They co-founded EastWest Microneedling and have served as advocates for acupuncturists, co-chairing the Microneedling Committee for the Acupuncture Association of Colorado since 2016. Their goal is to integrate microneedling into acupuncture by honoring its roots in Chinese medicine. They love how beauty can be a gateway to health and are excited to teach this technique to other holistic practitioners.
