Mastering the Art of Integrative Microneedling: A Deep Dive into Our In-Person Certification Seminar for Acupuncturists

14 NCCAOM CEU’s (16 CA CE’s)

Welcome to Eastwest Microneedling, where we provide comprehensive training and certification in Integrative Microneedling for Acupuncturists. Our in-person seminars, led by acupuncturist skincare experts Diana Horowitz, L.Ac., and Amelia Vargas, LE, L.Ac., offer a unique opportunity for acupuncturists to enhance their skills and expand their practice. In this blog post, we'll share what our seminars entail, the certification curriculum, and the invaluable benefits you can expect:

Day 1: Our Curriculum Will Cover:

  • History and Philosophy from Eastern and Western Perspectives

We dive into the historical background and foundations of microneedling, exploring both Eastern and Western perspectives. By understanding the cultural and historical contexts, acupuncturists will gain a deeper appreciation for the practice and its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

  • Benefits, Contraindications, Other Aesthetic Treatments

We educate our students about the wide-ranging benefits of microneedling, including its ability to stimulate collagen production, promote cellular regeneration, and address skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, acne and hyperpigmentation. We do this from a Western and Eastern perspective, sharing the holistic constitutional benefits that aren’t recognized by the Western approach to microneedling. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of recognizing contraindications and understanding how microneedling can and cannot interface with other aesthetic treatments.

  • Skincare Ingredients & Products

Amelia is an acupuncturist and esthetician with 20 years of experience, who has a strong commitment to utilizing natural, organic and herbal ingredients that support the health of the skin. She’ll guide our discussions around topics such as; selecting the right skincare products for microneedling treatments, understanding the nuances between different "stem cell" growth factor serums, hyaluronic acids, and peptides, and how to differentiate between many of the buzzword ingredients and products on the market.

  • Integrative Microneedling Protocol

We’ll share with you our flexible Integrative Microneedling Protocol, which we created in 2016 when motorized microneedling was first developing in the aesthetic field. You’ll watch us give two detailed demonstrations during the seminar to get a thorough understanding of its structure and flow and how to adapt it to your existing skills and expertise.

  • Motorized Microneedling & Manual Dermastamping

We’ll cover differences between the types of microneedling, including dermarolling, dermastamping and stamping vs. sliding motorized microneedling devices. Our curriculum focuses on motorized microneedling with a stamping device, keeping in alignment with the modern evolution of plum blossom technique.

  • Business Model, Legalities, and Scope of Practice

As acupuncturists ourselves, we understand the importance of empowering acupuncturists to successfully integrate microneedling into their practices! Our seminars guide students on how to effectively market one’s services, and provide resources for navigating legal considerations and one’s scope of practice. We anchor this information with a fun interactive exercise, supporting our students to offer microneedling services with confidence.

Day 2: Giving and Receiving Integrative Microneedling Treatments

Day two of our seminar is almost entirely devoted to students gaining the hands-on experience needed to successfully practice microneedling.

The Power of First-Hand Experience with a Variety of Learning Tools:

  • We provide Procell “microchanneling” devices to our seminar students, so everyone can have the opportunity to personally experience and perform integrative microneedling treatments during ample hands-on practice time. This will enable you to confidently offer this powerful, effective and high-end skincare treatment, and charge approximately three to four times the cost of a regular acupuncture session within your practice. To learn more about Procell before the seminar, please contact us at amelia.vargas@procelltherapies.com

  • We’ll also provide hands-on training in manual dermastamping, allowing you to develop a foundation, proficiency and confidence in using this tool derived from the seven star hammer’s plum blossom technique.

  • You’ll have the opportunity to incorporate holistic skincare products from JLEssencials and ReDermaVive, as well as Procell's growth factor microchanneling growth factor serum.

  • While practicing our Integrative Microneedling protocol, you’ll learn how to incorporate complementary modalities such as facial gua sha, jade rolling, facial cupping, essential oils, acupuncture and tuning fork vibrational therapy. This has the synergistic effect of fostering your patient's relaxation, qi and blood flow, health and sense of well-being during an integrative microneedling treatment.

  • Gain The Felt Sense:

Students will get to learn and practice esthetician based skills, such as proper facial cleansing techniques, feeling the right way to wrap a warm towel around a patient's face and how to operate a Procell microchanneling device, using the tapping motion and pressure necessary to stimulate the skin's optimal healing response. This hands-on experience creates a deeper understanding of the technique and enhances practitioners' ability to maximize results for their patients, comfortably, safely and effectively.

  • Get Immediate Feedback from Diana and Amelia:

One of the most valuable aspects of attending our in-person seminars is gaining  immediate access to TWO highly experienced practitioners! We’ll provide guidance, answer questions, and offer personalized feedback throughout the seminar.

  • Connect with Colleagues:
